Next Sunday 3rd of May 2009 LENNY KRAVITZ will kick off the spring-summer musical season in Cordoba performing live on stage of the El Fontanar sports complex. New York rocker Lenny Kravitz will play one of the 4 live shows he will do in Spain.

It’s all part of the latest world tour promoting his new album It is time for a Love Revolution (single: I'll be waiting). His concert in Cordoba is the only stop in Andalusia, but he will also play live in Valencia (2nd of May), Madrid (8th of May) and Zaragoza (9th of May).

It’s going to be a spectacular show by one of the most important artists of actual and modern rock, performing live on the stage where some years ago the same Bob Dylan gave the best of himself.

Organising this unique concert the Cordoba city hall would like to get rid of their image and incorporate in the list of Andalusia cities organising mayor concert with international stars, just like Seville (who could welcome Madonna last year for a concert, and will bring Depeche Mode this same summer 2009), Malaga and Granada.

Anyway it is quiet innovating for Cordoba since they usually have only big names at their famous Festival de la Guitarra.

Lenny Kravitz always has been very respected in Spain, since the early beginning with his first album Let Love Rule (1989), but also after that. Last year Spain could witness his amazing show at the Rock In Rio Festival in Madrid.

BIOGRAPHY Lenny Kravitz

Lenny Kravitz was born in Brooklyn (New York) at the 26th of May 1964, as Leonard Albert Kravitz, son of Sy Kravitz, producer at the NBC and the actress Roxie Roker. Later on, in 1974, the Kravitz will move to California where he will enter at the California Boys Choir, plying various instruments.

Since the beginning with his first bands he has been playing ‘retro’ music involving rock, soul, reggae, folk, funk and ballads. He plays always the guitar but at the time of being in the studio and recording he also plays bass, synths and percussion.

He is of course as well the author of unforgettable hits like Mama Said, Let love Rule, I built this garden for us or Are you gonna go my way and he also won the Grammy Award for best Best Male Rock Vocal Performance", for years in a row between 1998 a 2002.

Meanwhile Kravitz sold some 20 million albums all over the world and is number 93° at the VH1 list of “100 Best Hard Rock Artists”

In 1987 Kravitz marries the American actress Lisa Bonet, famous for her role in the Bill Cosby Show, and the have one daughter called Zoe. After the divorce, 4 years later, Zoe will stay with her father. It is also the period Kravitz wanted to get rid of his Prince look, his big idol, and will look for inspiration at the older and famous rockers from the 60’s and 70’s like Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix or Stevie Wonder.

In 2004 he receives the 6th nomination at the Grammy Awards for “If I Could Fall in Love”, from his sixth studio album “Lenny”. Throughout the years the talent of Lenny Kravitz has been respected by a number of colleagues, collaborating with names like Madonna, Slash (Guns N’ Roses), Aerosmith or N.E.R.D.

Then last year, 2008, he released It is time for a Love Revolution. This album, good for ‘gold’ in various countries all over the world, contains 14 songs with only one lemma “Keep the Faith” with I’ll be waiting, Love, Love, Love and Bring it on, as most successful songs. Kravitz played guitar, piano, bass and harmonica on this album, which again proofs again how all round he his.

That same year he played 2 times in Spain: on the 5th of July 2008 at the BBK Live festival in Bilbao and on the 7th of July at the Rock In Rio Festival in Madrid.
