INTERNATIONAL ART FESTIVAL MARBELLA 2009
(Festival Internacional de Arte Marbella)
From Thursday 18th till Sunday 21st of June 2009
On the 18th of June 2009 Marbella (Andalusia) will celebrate it’s first International Art Festival, F.I.A.M.. A 3-days festival with Paintings, Photography, Sculpture, Glass, Action Painting and Performance. The idea is to repeat this art festival every year and artists who live and work around the Costa del Sol will be invited to present their work.
Caroline Bowley of “Decorate in Style” and president of “Women in Business” , Jose Luis Hernandez, director of the Tourist Information Center and Loni Olfers from “Houses of Art” will be the 3 jurors, to make a selection of artists to be invited.
During the Festival the selected artists will be present at the Alameda in Marbella, Avenida del Mar, each with an individual gallery tent to expose their works, to meet the public, try to sell and promote their work to galleries or curators. There will also be lots of other activities as well like theatre, street theatre, mime, dance and concerts.
YOUNG ARTIST CONTEST - Marbella
At the same time of the International Art Festival, Houses of Art Marbella, will organise a Young Artist Contest, with the idea to promote art and the artists from the Costa del Sol. The candidates have to be between 16 and 30 and the selected artists will be able to show their work at the exibition in the pavilion of Houses of Art, during the Art Festival Marbella. A professional jury and the public will judge the works and the winner will be invited to show his works at the House Of Art Gallery in the Marbella Club Hotel.
