Desde época romana existe la vinculación al vino, tal y como lo demuestran los restos numismáticos hallados en Acinipo, donde se emitían monedas con la simbología del racimo de uva.



La comarca de Ronda ofrece unas condiciones climáticas perfectas para la elaboración de vinos tintos, rosados y blancos de alta calidad. Estas condiciones particulares (altitud de Ronda sobre el nivel del mar, régimen pluviométrico estable, condiciones especiales de días calurosos y noches frescas, etc.), han generado la implantación de viñedos y bodegas en nuestra Serranía.

Een kijkje in Spaanse b&b van ex – manager dEUS.

Slapen in de Madonnakamer
Een bed &breakfast met how rock´n-rollgehalte?Dan moet je naar Enfrente Arte in het Spaanse Ronda, het gastenverblijf van voormalig dEUS – manager Filip Eyckmans die je vanavond kan bewonderen in “Vlaanderen vakantieland”. Je slaapt in het bed waarin Tim Van Haemel, Buscemi, Tom Barman en Madonna lagen te Woelen.

Elf jaar geleden stampte Antwerpenaar Filip Eycmans in het Spaanse stadje Ronda een gastenverblijf uit de grond. Enfrente Arte is een unieke bed and breakfast waar tal van muzikanten en artiesten kind aan huis zjin.

Omdat Filip op tien minuten wandelen ook een opnamestudio had, konden de bands inalle rustbezig zjin met hun muziek “zowat de hele Belgische scene is heir langs geweest”, verrelt Filip, “Think of One”, Arid, Vive la Fête, Buscemi, DAAU, Millionere…. Sommigen logeerden hier een paar maanden, anderen een half jaar”

dEUS, de band rond Tom Barman waarvan Filip in die tij de manager was, sloeg zelfs een volleding jaar zjin tenten op in de b&b omfestoord aan The Ideal Crash te werken. “De hele plaat is in Ronda opgenomen en grotendeels hier ontstaan. Ik geloof dat Tommie Instant Street zelfs op zijn vaste kamer in Enfrente Arte heft geschreven Op datzelide moment kwan de Briste band Lamb inspirate opdoen in Ronda” zij zaten in de torenkamer, de mooiste kamer van heel de b&b. Omdat de studio meestal bezet was door dEUS, hebben zij stukken van hun plaat opgenmnen in the sauna. Ook kamer tien had al hoog bezoek”. Een paar maanden voor ik de b&b overnam, sliep Madonna er omdat ze in Ronda een videoclip kwan opnemen. Sindsdien staat de kamer beken als de “Madonnaroom”




Niet alleen muzikanten vinden hun weg naar Enfrente Arte. Toen the film Don Quichote werd opgernomen in Ronda, zakten de acteurs, waaronder Isabella Rossini, Bob Hoskins en John Lithgow, naar Enfrente Arte af, dat bekend stond voor zjin bruisende feestjes. “Dat was heel plezant. Ik herinner me dat ik met Bob Hoskins in onze patio stond the shaken. Qua starfucking kan da tellen. (lacht)

De eerste vier jaar ontving Filip aleen muziekgroepen en productiehuizen , intussen kunnen ook gewonw toeristen bij Enfrente Arte terecht en die kunnen het eigenzininge karakter van de b&b ergsmaken.



De naam Enfrente Arte is niet toevallig een woordspeling op he Spaanse “enfrentarse”, dat “weerstand bieden tegen” betekent. Ik wou breken met wat je in het comerciele circuit vindt, zeg Filip, “Alles watnmijm irriteerde in een klasiek hotel, zoals de hotelbar waar ze je drie euros durven aanrekenen voor een cola, moest anders in Enfrente Arte. Alle extra´s zitten bijons in de prijs inbergrepen. Onze gratis bas 24 uur op 24 open en wordt opengehouden door onze gasten zelf. Dat zorgt uiteraad voor een speciale sfeer ” Ook het ontbijt is aangpast aan het leven van muzikanten, die meestal´s nacts leven “Ontbijjten kan tot 12 uur. Het jaar dat dEUS bij ons logeerde, hebben we het ontbijt zelfs verlaat tot twee uur´s namiddags”

Zelf heeft Filip met de muziekbusiness niets meer te maken. Hij vverkocht zijn studio in Ronda en vond een nieuwe sport uit, bossaball, een combinatie van volleyball, trampolinespringen en de Braziliaanse gevechtsdans capoeira, waarvan hij licenties verkoopt. De nichten en neven vaan zinjn vrouw runnen nu de b&b. Filip, die un in Marbella woont, komt nog maar weining in Enfrente Arte “Maar het blijf na aan mijn hart liggen.

FAIR AND FESTIVAL OF PEDRO ROMERO

(Andalucia's national celebration declared of tourist interest)

During the second half of August and on the first week of September, Ronda celebrated the most our important event, the Fair of Pedro Romero.
At the second half of august the first events announcing the coming Fair are organized, like some Theater performances, the Fair's Opening Speech, the presentation of the Goyaesque Ladies - real stars of the Fair -, the Flamenco singing Festival, several sports competitions,...



When the first week of september arrives, the great Ronda's festive week arrives. At these dates, Ronda's neighbours and visitors are invited to enjoy of a colourful city, plenty of music, dance, singing, wines and, specially, its people, "very good people" as the Andalusian people say. Ronda offers its best and shows to everyone a great number of cultural and enjoy options. Touch, smell, taste, hearing and sight are activated and it is possible to enjoy the spring for a second time during some days.

When the International Folklore Music and Dancing Festival starts, the Fair is in the air. The Fair and Festival of Pedro Romero starts officially with the Parade (an opportunity to admire for the first time the most beautiful women, the Goyaesques) and also with the Switching of the Fair Place's artistic lights.
Everything is joy, everything life, everything shines, everything jumps.Made of liquid and round the table, the golden waves run said the poet Salvador Rueda. Everything is colours and glances, noises and shouts, laughs, joy and dance.
From the Wednesday all the people are already to go to the Feria del Centro (Fair in the midle of the city) and at the different music events at the Municipal Caseta (a provisory building specially made each year for singing, dancing, drink a cup and, in one word, enjoying).We will arrive slowly to the desired and long waited Saturday, the Saturday of theTraditional Goyaesque Bullfighting, a date when all the bullfighting fans will live, feel and get excited with the echoes of the "Olés" roared at our wonderful stone Bullring.

It's the most important bullfighting afternoon, plenty of light and violet colour at the sky, an afternoon of winging fans at Ronda's bullring, with it's goyaesque history and its Cavalry Order. It's the most important meeting, and a dreamed of bullfight is long awaited, like something living deep at the heart's inside. Looking at that national monument specially decorated for this event, with smells of cigars, sweets, small wineskins and exciting silences, the eyes cannot find one limited where to stop, because the beauty seen and heard is always increasing and non stopping.



The Goyaesque Bullfight has got its own personality which makes it different. The reason for this is the combination of an incredible show with the spectacular frame for it of the two hundred years old Bullring of the Royal Cavalry Order of Ronda. Lots of details make ofthe Goyaesque Bullfight an special event. Without any kind of doubt, some of them are the legendary name of Ronda and its ancient history, the more investigated it is, the older it becomes. In addition to this, the romantic travelers have to be mentioned, and of course, after them, the shock and enthusiastic feeling of Orson Welles and Ernest Hemingway.

But that's not all !! The Carriage's Contest and the Ronda's Horse Bullfighting on Sunday evening, still wait for visitors and Ronda's neighbours. The gold looking iron attachements of the horses, the magnificient saddlery works, the leather hand made boots and trousers of the riders, the litle bells of the horses making an art courtain sounding like a symphony of the carriages and horses.

Every year there are a lot of people that are coming from others city and others country to enjoy the most important event in Ronda “ Fair and Festival of Pedro Romero” and taste the essential city life in Ronda!!

EL TORCAL DE ANTEQUERA

The El Torcal Nature Reserve is located in Antequera and is the most impressive & beautiful karstic landscape in Europe. Antequera is very near to Ronda, just 45 minutes.





Its fantasy-like rock formations cover an area of 12 square kilometres. This impressive limestone complex was thrust upward from the bed of the sea about 150 million years ago as the result of geological folding.

Three routes through the park have been marked out for walkers with different coloured arrows on wooden sticks. The green route is the shortest and easiest, 1.5 km. and takes about 30 minutes. The yellow route covers most of the green area, is 2.5 km. long and takes you to "Las Ventanillas" The Windows, at 1.200 m. for panoramic views of the valley of Málaga. Finally the red route is the longest and most difficult, 4.5 km. taking about three hours, with a viewing point 1.339 m. up where you can see the whole of the El Torcal Park and the Africa Coastline.

Quidam: a nameless passer-by, a solitary figure lingering on a street corner, a person rushing past. It could be anyone, anybody. Someone coming, going, living in our anonymous society. A member of the crowd, one of the silent majority. The one who cries out, sings and dreams within us all. This is the "quidam" that Cirque du Soleil is celebrating.
A young girl fumes; she has already seen everything there is to see, and her world has lost all meaning. Her anger shatters her little world, and she finds herself in the universe of Quidam. She is joined by a joyful companion as well as another character, more mysterious, who will attempt to seduce her with the marvelous, the unsettling, and the terrifying.

ACINIPO ROMANS RUINS IN RONDA

The archaeological site of Acinipo is located over one big limestone hill of a tertiary origin, having a middle height of 999 mts. over the sea's surface. This rise at the depression of Ronda gave it an important strategic value, which was specially considered at the preroman age when the human settlement had to be stablished.

Acinipo is one of the settlements whose name appears for the first time in a classical text, as the ones written by Ptolomeo or Plinio. This site has been paid attention by lots of investigators. The first news about it appear soon, in the 16th century with Lorenzo de Padilla, being Fariña del Corral, in 1650, the first who identified the theater as belonging to the Roman age.



Although most of the visible rests belong to the Roman age, we do not have to forget the important prehistoric rests of this city. The oldest findings belong to the Neolithic period, and these found remains continue through the Ages of Copper and Bronze. It is at this prehistoric age and with the importance of the Phoenician colonies that Acinipo will rise and become its importance, which will arrive to its highpoint at the Roman age, being preceded by the Iberian phase.

ACINIPO RUINAS ROMANAS EN RONDA

Estas ruinas romanas se encuentran a 18 kilómetros de Ronda. Destaca un anfiteatro romano conservado en buen estado. El edificio se levantó entre los años 60 y 50 antes de Cristo. Según los cálculos actuales, tenía un aforo de dos mil personas.
Una de sus peculiaridades es que su estructura está tallada en la propia roca. También cuenta con termas, vías de la ciudad, así como algunas casas romanas.



La antigua Acinipo tuvo además un recinto amurallado y un templo, entre otros vestigios. Esto da una idea de su importancia, tal y como se corrobora con el hallazgo en sus alrededores de monedas y restos de inscripciones y capiteles. Las ruinas romanas se encuentran en la zona conocida como Ronda La Vieja. El paraje, rodeado de montañas, viñedos y campos de cultivo y pasto para el ganado, acogió una villa romana. El origen del yacimiento se remonta al Neolítico.




Cómo ir: Tomar la A-376 ó la A-367 hasta Ronda y allí coger la A-376 dirección Sevilla. A unos ocho kilómetros, encontrarán un desvío a la derecha para Acinipo.

CUEVA DE LA PILETA RONDA

La Cueva de la Pileta, está situada en Benaoján, un pueblo muy cercano a Ronda. Fue descubierta en 1905. Fue declarada Monumento Nacional en 1924. Contiene un importante conjunto de pinturas rupestres de cabras, caballos, cérvidos, bóvidos, etc. Entre ellas destacan "La yegua preñada" y "El pez".



Los restos que se conservan del Paleolítico se caracteriza por una ocupación destacable por parte de grupos cazadores-recolectores y por tener un hábitat estacional en vinculación directa con actividades de subsistencia, fundamentalmente la caza. En todos estos asentamientos aparecen útiles y desechos de talla con clara tipología musteriense.



Esta cueva, además de ser hábitat para el hombre prehistórico, fue lugar de enterramiento, así se demostró con el descubrimiento de restos humanos en diferentes espacios de la cueva.

Es una de las cuevas con pinturas rupestres más importante de Andalucía.

PILETA´S CAVE IN RONDA

The Pileta Cave, is located at Benaojan a town very near from Ronda. Discovered in 1905, it was declared National Monument in 1924. It contains an important number of cave's paintings representing goats, horses, cervids, bovids, among them, the most important are the ones called "The pregnant mare" and "The fish".



The conserved remains belonging to the Paleolithic show an important work by the side of the hunting and farmer human groups. The most important characteristic of these groups is the fact of changing the places where they live depending on the possibilities of surviving, specially concerning the hunting activity. At all these settlements there have been found tools and rest of them with a well defined Mustherian typology.

This cave was not only a place to live for the human people of that age, but also a place to be buried in, as proofed with the finding of human rests at different spaces of the cave.
Last but not least, it can be said that it is the cave with the most important cave's paintings of Andalusia.

EL AVE EN RONDA

Hace varios días se presentaba el proyecto en el que próximamente El Ave Antequera – Ronda reducirá la distancia y mejora en el tiempo de viaje. El viaje se podrá efectuar en un tiempo estimado de 20 minutos.

A esto hay que sumar la mejora y ventaja para Ronda, ya que también bajarán los tiempos de viaje desde Ronda a Madrid en hasta las dos horas y media- y a las ciudades andaluzas del entorno.




El nuevo trazado de la línea del Ave, permitirá una velocidad máxima superior a 300 Km/h. el cuál partirá de la estación de Antequera-
Santa Ana, después conectará con la estación de Bobadilla y discurrirá hasta Almargen por el corredor que ocupa la línea actual. Desde la estación de Almargen, luego continuará por un nuevo trazado, hasta llegar a la
estación de La Indiana (Ronda), donde conectará con la línea actual.

FERIA DEL GANADO RONDA MAYO 2008

Los dias 20, 21 y 22de Mayo se celebrará en Ronda, un año más “La Real Feria Del Ganado”, y los dias 24, 25 y 26 de Mayo "La Feria Agrolimentaria" . Dicha feria es una de las más antigua de Andalucía.

DEUS AND HOTEL ENFRENTE ARTE

dEUS, is a band from Antwerp (Belgium), they record their album “The Ideal Crash” in the recording studio “En Frente Arte” in Ronda in 1999. That´s why they have this very special relationship with the Hotel Enfrente Arte.

Now dEUS is returning this spring (28th of April 2008) with their new album “Vantage Point” their boldest - and perhaps finest - album to date, featuring guest vocal appearances from Karin Dreijer Andersson from The Knife and Guy Garvey of Elbow.“Vantage Point” finds dEUS at their most adventurous and self-assured, containing moments of brooding grandeur, via propulsive rhythms, icy synths, deadly riffs and punk-funk grooves.

dEUS remain as eclectic as ever, though this new release also finds them at their most emotive and melody-driven, particularly on tracks such as “The Vanishing of Maria Schneider”, where Guy Garvey’s aching harmonies beautifully complement those of dEUS frontman Tom Barman.Having secured their status as art-rock legends during the 90s… lionised by the likes of Radiohead and REM… it is clear that the best was yet to come, as dEUS stake out bold new frontiers for themselves on what is surely one of the finest albums of 2008…

Andalucia is like springtime. It's old men smoking Ducados and shouting at each other. It's the walk uphill, puffing from the heat, just to go to that one bar that serves your favourite lechuga. It's the sweet wine of Malaga. It's the way people throw everything on the floor of the restaurant, even the ashtrays. It's the colour of the sky, the colour of her eye, the velocity of speech, the humour you don't get 'cause you hardly understand it, but you laugh anyway. 'Cause Andalucia is smiling at you, and if it seduces after ten o'clock, it kicks ass at one. It's the sea and the foreign newspapers, the sickening drives through the mountains, the intensity, if intensity is what you look for. It's the navajas, phallic delicacy, better than mussels, bigger than snails, only available on Tuesdays and Fridays, on the other side of town, maybe. Andalucia is glamorous without stars, rich without money, warm-hearted, and welcoming. Andalucia smiles at you.

Hi everybody,

Just a word from me to tell you that our record Vantage Point is finished, it was recorded in Antwerp in our brand new studio by the same name. Release is set for April 21st. We’ll tour in Europe in April and May, playing smaller clubs in the big cities. The plan is then to attack the summerfestivals and return for a more extensive tour in the autumn. I can’t wait to go on the road again. Vantage Point was produced by Dave McCracken and mixed by Joe Hirst. Two young but experienced Englishmen who never stopped working until they got it right. I think they like the Belgian food too. Only problem was, Dave beat me at playing pool and made me lose a lot of money. I’m never gonna work with him again. The line-up is the same as last tour and I think it shows. We’re sounding like a damn tight outfit if you ask me. Some songs are loud and groovy, others, like ‘Smokers Reflect’ and ‘Eternal Woman’ are as melody-driven as you’ve ever heard us. We experimented a lot with the voices so expect some fucked up Gregorian chants over Stef’s and Alan’s rhythm-section. We also welcomed some distinguished guests.

There’s Lies Lorquet from Mintzkov, who sings as beautifully and understated as ever. We’re all secretly in love with her. Then there’s Guy Garvey from Elbow, who sent his vocal straight from the Massive Attack studio where he was working and turned ‘The Vanishing Of Maria Schneider’ into and old-world, super-romantic Technicolor lovesong. And last but not least, there’s Karin Dreijer Andersson from The Knife, who flew from Stockholm to guest on ‘Slow’. She’s got a unique voice and we’re all really proud she delivered so passionately. By the way, I’m finishing the video for that song right now, and it will be presented to you on our new site. You will be able to download it for free in the highest resolution soon. In short: I can’t wait until you hear and see all of this and of course, I hope you like it like we do.

Afortunadamente esta vez sólo hemos tenido que esperar un par de años
para reencontrarnos de nuevo con el que suma el quinto trabajo de
estudio de nuestros belgas favoritos. Y también es una suerte que su
nuevo álbum no sólo esté a la altura del anterior si no que, por
momentos, incluso lo supera al conseguir una colección de canciones
mucho más cohesionadas alrededor de un estilo en el que la pericia
instrumental está al servicio de lograr la atmósfera adecuada.

Una densidad tonal que en ocasiones se muestra inquietante con ese
puntito de oscuridad soul y ese evidente toque arty con el que tan
buenos resultados han cosechado pioneros como los Bad Seeds, Tom Waits
u otras bandas afines como The Afghan Whigs, And You Will Know Us By
You Trail Of Dead o Gomez. A todas estas, el disco empieza con "When
She Comes Down" cuya oscilación funky y negroide puede recordarte a
otros colosos de los noventa, Fun Lovin, Criminals, pero sólo hasta
que llega el toque épico del estribillo desbaratando cualquier
parecido. La siguiente "Oh Your God" la hubiera firmado orgulloso Nick
Cave y, tras ésta, un "Eternal Woman" que evoca la relectura que
Johnny Cash hizo del "Hurt" de NIN. Sin embargo, lo mejor llega hacia
la mitad del disco con un "Slow" digna del cancionero de Greg Dulli y
un single, "The Architect", con ese toque de modernidad post-punk a lo
The Rapture. Para finalizar una perla de indie-soul coral llamada
"Popular Culture" con la que dan carpetazo a este catálogo del rock
más noventas.

RONDA BULLRING

The Plaza de Toros (bullring) of the Real Maestranza is a unique listed monument and constitutes the principal tourist attraction in Ronda. Built of local sandstone the delicacy of line of the arched double gallery covering the entire public area recalls the circular patio of the Palace of Charles V in the Alhambra and gives an air more reminiscent of a cloister than a place of public spectacle.

The arena measures 66 metres in diameter, its circumference delimited by a twin stone wall ring around which runs a series of plain Tuscan columns forming some sixty arches of the public galleries which support the double roof tiled in the Moorish style. The elegance and sobriety of the interior space is unique and has been admired for over two centuries.

The ring is home to one of the most important events in the bullfighting calendar, the Corrida Goyesca (bullfight in the Goyaesque style), held in early September during the local festivities in honour of the great eighteenth-century bullfighter, Pedro Romero. The ring also hosts the annual exhibition of carriages and driving competition, attended by prize-winning collectors of horse carriages from all over Andalusia. The bullfight in Ronda has for years attracted personalities from the world of the arts. Antonio Ordóñez in particular brought to the fiesta admirers such as Orson Welles and Ernest Hemingway, joined by numerous painters, architects and creative artists.

MUSEUM

The Bullfighting Museum, placed beneath the public galleries, provides a chronological tour of the culture of the bull and the basic aspects of the bullfight, the Fiesta, its origins and links to the art of horse riding, the role of Ronda and its bullfighting dynasties headed by Pedro Romero and Antonio Ordóñez. Among the exhibits the visitor will find a splendid collection of engravings, lithographs and prints including a full set of Goya's Tauromaquia, works by Victor Adam and Lake Price; books and engravings on equestrianism, oil paintings from the 17th to 19th centuries; a collection of bullfighting costumes and other memorabilia and posters of recent bullfights, all based on original work commissioned from leading artists such as Arroyo, Barceló, Campano, Félix de Cárdenas, Darío Villalba, Pérez Villalta, Úrculo, etc.

The Royal Harness Collection of the House of Orleans comprises a complete set of harnesses, saddles and livery presented by the King of France, Louis-Phillippe d'Orléans, to his son the Duke of Montpensier. The exhibition also includes the spectacular mameluke saddles and the Turkish style saddlery (talabartería) produced in the Parisian workshops of the 19th century.
The itinerary continues with the Collection of Antique Firearms. There are some 300 pieces including originals from the armouries of Philip IV and Charles III, European pistols and rifles of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries (flintlock, hammer, wheel and pin); other pieces from the armouries of Louis XIV, Napoleon or English monarchs; Venetian, Indian and English pistols, as well as harquebuses used in the Spanish War of Succession.

Finally, the Real Maestranza Gallery aims to show the origins of this chivalrous institution, linked to the military orders of the Middle Ages, and its role in the history of Ronda. The Gallery contains pictures, arms, uniforms, documents and other materials.
This interesting selection of historical and cultural content (tauromachy, equestrianism and chivalry, antique firearms) is only available as part of the visit to the bullring complex.

RONDA MONUMENTOS TAURINOS

Al pasear por las calles de Ronda, se puede ver como los rondeños han hecho honor merecido a sus paisanos toreros de dinastía. En el Barrio de San Francisco, donde naciera el gran Pedro Romero, sus paisanos levantaron en lugar preeminente, en piedra, una inscripción, que da fe del nacimiento y existencia de un rondeño del que se sienten orgullosos.En la Alameda del Tajo, entre sus jardines, la imagen de Pedro Romero preside el hermoso paseo que conduce al mirador. De vuelta, tras admirar las huertas del Tajo, la estación de Sevillana de Electricidad y algún coche que serpentea por la empinada cuesta, vista desde lo alto del mirador, como si de una pequeña maqueta viviente se tratara, nos encontramos frente a frente con la estatua de torero rondeño, como si quisiera dar al visitante curioso la bienvenida a la taurina ciudad de Ronda.


A poca distancia de la Alameda está la Plaza de Toros; en su exterior, en el lugar conocido como "el picadero", se levantan las estatuas de dos grandes personajes de la tauromaquia: Cayetano Ordóñez "Niño de la Palma" y Antonio Ordóñez, padre e hijo, que dieron gloria a la torería de sus respectivas épocas. Son monumentos recientes, que los rondeños han querido perpetuar como reconocimiento a la más joven dinastía rondeña: los Ordóñez.

Y junto a la plaza de toros, podemos encontar al famoso toro, fantastica figura.

RONDA PLAZA DE TOROS

La Plaza de Toros de Ronda, es de propiedad privada; pertenece a la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Ronda. Es una de las más bellas y antiguas del mundo por su arquitectura y su singular construcción.
Ronda se considera una de las cunas de la tauromaquia moderna, surgida en el Siglo XVIII, en una ciudad donde se conservaba muy viva la tradición de la caballería al existir una corporación dedicada a que no se perdiera el arte ecuestre.

El auge del toreo llevó a la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Ronda a erigir su famosa plaza, obra que se atribuye a Martín de Aldehuela, el mismo arquitecto del grandioso Puente Nuevo sobre el Tajo de Ronda.

La construcción de la plaza duró seis años y fue inaugurada en 1785, con una corrida de toros en la que actuaron Pedro Romero y Pepe Illo.

En el siglo XX, una segunda dinastía de toreros rondeños, los Ordóñez, constituye otra aportación de Ronda a la historia de la Tauromaquia. Cayetano Ordóñez y su hijo Antonio Ordóñez despertaron, por su manera de concebir el toreo, el interés de personajes tan ilustres como Orson Wells y Ernest Hemingway.
Fue precisamente Antonio Ordóñez quien en 1954 creó la mundialmente conocida corrida goyesca, donde el exorno y la vestimenta nos trasladan a la época del pintor Goya.

Durante la Feria de Pedro Romero, a principios del mes de septiembre, la plaza acoge una de las citas más importantes del toreo, la Corrida Goyesca, así como una de los espectáculos más aplaudidos por el visitante, el Concurso Exhibición de Enganches, donde se dan cita los mejores coleccionistas de España. La imagen histórica no sólo se corresponde con sus orígenes dieciochescos, sino que la plaza también ha incorporado iconos durante el siglo XX como los hermanos Cayetano y Antonio Ordóñez, Orson Welles o Ernest Hemingway.

- Museo de la Tauromaquia

En el recorrido podrám disfrutar de forma didáctica, los orígenes y evolución del arte de la tauromaquia, desde las funciones reales del toreo caballeresco a la importancia de Ronda y sus dinastías de toreros en la historia de la fiesta taurina.

El visitante puede contemplar, entre otros, una espléndida colección de aguafuertes, grabados, litografías y estampas, con la edición de la Tauromaquia de Goya y otras inglesas y francesas como las de William Lake Price y Victor Adam, respectivamente; óleos de los siglos XVII, XVIII y XIX; trajes, bronces, utensilios y los carteles de las corridas goyescas contemporáneas, realizados por artistas de reconocido prestigio y a quienes la Real Maestranza ha invitado a participar: Arroyo, Barceló, Campano, Cárdenas, Villalba, Pérez Villalta, Úrculo, Guinovart.

- Real Guarnicionería

La colección de la Real Guarnicionería muestra el conjunto de arneses, sillería y ropajes que el rey de Francia, Luis Felipe de Orleáns, regaló a su hijo Antonio, duque de Montpensier. Se encuentran diferenciadas en el montaje las guarniciones orientales de la francesa de gala, la andaluza calesera o la inglesa de paseo.
La extraordinaria calidad de todos los componentes que se exhiben es la máxima expresión en materia de guarniciones de los coches de caballos.

Es clasificada según el sistema de ignición de las armas, muestra un conjunto de doscientas noventa piezas: originales de las armerías de Felipe IV y Carlos III; escopetas y rifles europeos de los siglos XVII, XVIII y XIX, tanto de pedernal como de percusión, rueda o aguja; piezas de las armerías de Luis XIV, Napoleón o de monarcas ingleses; pistolas con percutor de los siglos XVIII y XIX; pistolas deportivas inglesas del XVIII; arcabuces utilizados en la Guerra de Sucesión española junto a una serie de pistolas de duelo, como las que usara el escritor Vicente Blasco Ibáñez.

Todas estas piezas se complementan con paneles explicativos referentes al universo de las armas, que ilustran el recorrido histórico por los distintos usos y costumbres, procedimientos, avances e intentos de mejora de los diversos sistemas desde el siglo XVI hasta finales del XIX.

- Galería de la Real Maestranza

Situada en el recorrido tras la Real Guarnicionería y ante sala de la Colección de Armas de Fuego Antiguas, la galería propone una introducción de la institución nobiliaria y caballeresca, cuyos orígenes se remontan a la conquista de Ronda durante la Guerra de Granada. Los retratos de Felipe II y del infante Don Gabriel acompañados de los históricos uniformes, la silla de montar y armas emblemáticas perteneciente a ilustres caballeros, recorren las vicisitudes de la corporación a lo largo de cuatro siglos.

PARQUES NATURALES SERRANIA DE RONDA

Sierra de las Nieves:

El Parque Natural Sierra de las Nieves, declarado por la Unesco Reserva de la Biosfera, se halla en plena comarca natural de la Serranía de Ronda. El más importante bosque de pinsapos, una especie exclusiva del sur peninsular y del norte de Marruecos, ocupa algo más de 3.000 ha en la Sierra de las Nieves. El Parque ocupa una superficie de 20.163 ha entre los municipios de El Burgo, Istán, Monda. Zona de frontera entre el dominio atlántico y mediterráneo, posee una flora variada y original. En la alta montaña, donde son frecuentes las precipitaciones y la formación de nieblas, abunda el quejigo y el pinsapo, pudiéndose apreciar también tejos y arces. En zonas más bajas destacan la encina y el alcornoque, sobre todo en los municipios de Istán y Monda. También existen pequeñas masas de algarrobos y de castaños, estos últimos explotados en Tolox y Parauta. La riqueza en especies cinegéticas de estas sierras hizo que en 1972 se declarasen casi 22.000 ha como Reserva Nacional de Caza. Gracias a ello se han preservado especies como la cabra montés.



Grazalema:

Declarado Reserva de la Biosfera por la Unesco, el macizo de Grazalema ofrece un impresionante paisaje, de contrastados relieves sobre rocas calizas fruto de una violenta historia geológica: valles encajados en forma de cañones, cuevas, cornisas y taludes, ... y una amplia variedad de formas originadas por procesos de disolución ocurridos en tiempos geológicos remotos. Esta serranía gaditana se levanta entre los 600 y 1600 m. sobre los valles y depresiones circundantes. Es una zona de agrestes relieves, con valles de paredes verticales como la "Garganta Verde", cuya profundidad alcanza los 400 m. También son frecuentes las cuevas o grutas entre las que se encuentran el "Complejo Hundidero-Gato", la mayor cueva de Andalucía o la "Cueva de la Pileta", conocida en todo el mundo por sus vestigios prehistóricos


Alcornocales:

La Sierra de Grazalema por su situación geográfica, su belleza paisajística y su parque natural, resulta ideal para ser visitada en cualquier época del año. Un paraje esplendoroso y atractivo para aquellos que buscan la paz y el sosiego en compañía de la pureza natural de una masa de vegetación puramente mediterránea tales como encinas, quejigos y alcornoques. Declarado por la Unesco reserva de la biosfera en el año 1977. Es el sitio ideal para los amantes de la naturaleza y la práctica del senderismo, ciclismo de montaña, y la observación de aves y plantas. En su flora "el pinsapo", especie de abeto exclusiva en la Europa occidental es la especie de mayor interes. Su fauna destaca por tener una de las mayores concentraciones europeas de buitre leonado, murcielago y cabra montés. Entre sus poblaciones más típicas destacamos Grazalema, Ubrique, El Bosque, Ben
