The contemporary art musuem of Seville on the Cartuja island is just outside of the centre of Seville where one encounteres the CAAC which was a 16th century monastery and was then converted to a pottery and ceramics factory in 1841 to house now a wide collection of contemporary art, including videos and music. There is a lot to see, so if time is not an issue, two trips may be better. At less than 2 Euros entry, it’s a bargain.Art exhibitions will come & go and some will be to your taste, some not but what is really worthwhile the visit, the real raison d’etre for this place is the marvellous gallery itself The expo’s hosts all types of contemporary art featuring videos, photographs, sculptures and installations. Wonderful photo opportunities everywhere in this huge, well preserved, monastic complex and there is a cafe in the grounds which has a daily set menu for around 8 euros. The food is pritty good.
